Bannerghata Road and BTM Layout

During my recent visit to Bangalore, I went past BTM Layout and was literally surprised to see a new look BTM. Bannerghata Road leading to the Mico Layout Signal is now home to big techies such as Oracle and Accenture. All I remember about this stretch is the ICE exhibition held on an empty ground near the industrial estate. I could not find that place easily now. As I last visited BTM nearly a decade ago, I had a tough time figuring out the old landmarks. For e.g. Jayadeva Hospital was being built when I last came over that side and what do I see now?? A towering structure mentioning the hospital's name.. Plus the Flyover near the hospital...For a minute I thought I was somewhere abroad. The traffic snarls at this junction are avoided by use of the flyover.

The only familiar structure on Bannerghata Road that I recollect seeing a decade ago is the Ansals complex, near the flyover. Now, so many high rises have mushroomed that I find it difficult to believe that its the same Bannerghata Road.. So many eateries have also come up..I am told that the interior lanes of BTM Layout have also developed left and right though I did not get a chance to roam there much. But whatever I saw just erased my previous memory of BTM Layout!!! I now remember Bannerghata Road and BTM as high tech and swanky places...And yes, I passed through the lovely Raagi Gudda Temple too.

But you have not mentioned the traffic chaos inspite of all these debelopments. Overall the quality of living should have come down. It takes not less than an hour to move from Diary circle to Jayadeva in a peak hour
